Alhama is offering eleven guided tours to explore its heritage and the districts of El Berro and Gebas - 29/09/2026

The programme runs from 3 October to 3 January and requires prior registration, with places limited

Alhama de Murcia Town Council, through its Tourism Department, has organised eleven guided tours to introduce local residents and visitors to the town’s history, traditions and landscapes during the autumn and the festive season. The programme combines tours of the town centre with routes through El Berro and Gebas, which are back on the calendar following their positive reception amongst the regional public.

“We want visitors to find reasons to get to know Alhama better, and for our residents to discover details of their surroundings that often go unnoticed. The outlying districts have a lot to offer, and these routes allow us to delve into their history and get to know the people who have kept their traditions alive,” said Leticia Pareja, Councillor for Tourism.

Qualified official guides from the Region of Murcia will lead the activities. The events on the calendar will be in Spanish, although the programme also includes tours in English. In addition, groups may arrange other dates, subject to availability, by contacting the Tourist Office.

TOUR THE CITY

This walking tour offers an insight into local history through an outdoor tour of the main cultural attractions in the town centre. The tours will take place on Saturdays 3 October, 7 November and 5 December, at 10 am.

The price is 3 euros for adults and 2 euros for children aged 3 to 12.

EL BERRO, THE GATEWAY TO SIERRA ESPUÑA

The streets and hidden corners of this little village provide the setting for discovering its traditions and its connection to the Sierra Espuña area. The tours will take place on Saturdays 10 October, 14 November, 12 and 26 December, at 10.00 am.

GEBAS: LANDSCAPE AND CULTURE

This free activity combines nature and rural life to give participants an insight into the identity of Gebas and its unique landscape. The schedule includes Saturdays 24 October, 21 November, 19 December and 2 January 2027, at 10.00 am.
