GREEN NOVEMBER, EXHIBITION: ARBÓREO, LOS ÁRBOLES NOS CUENTAN SU VIDA

Admission is free. The exhibition will be open from November 4 to December 3, Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

From November 4 to December 3, the Casa de Cultura’s exhibition hall will host the exhibition “Arbóreo: Trees Tell Us About Their Lives,” which will open on Wednesday, November 4, at 7:00 p.m.

Tree trunks, wood samples from trees and shrubs, fossil remains, and illustrations will help visitors discover how woody plants preserve information about the conditions in which they grew. The exhibition will feature explanatory panels to aid in interpreting these natural records.

This exhibition is complemented by the “Green November” lecture series, which will take place weekly at the Casa de la Cultura:
The series will begin on Wednesday, November 4, following the opening, with Miguel Ortega Martínez, a science communicator specializing in nature and ethnography. His lecture, "Los árboles nos cuentan su vida. El devenir de su historia vital a través de sus anillos y sus restos", will delve into the traces that allow us to reconstruct their life stories and the changes in their environment.

On Thursday, November 5, Chema Catarineu Guillén, a biologist with a master’s degree in Biodiversity Management in Mediterranean Environments, will present his book "Viaje al planeta de los insectos. Historias curiosas acerca de unos seres asombrosos", an exploration of the characteristics and unique traits of these animals.

The program will continue on Thursday, November 12, with Miguel Ángel Esteve Selma, professor of Ecology at the University of Murcia. In his talk, "Ecología forense de la Región de Murcia. Lo que ya hemos perdido", he will analyze the transformations of ecosystems and the environmental memory of the region.

On Wednesday, November 18, Antonio J. Martínez Bermejo, from Producciones Recorder. Biocine, will present the documentary "El apóstol del árbol. Tras la huella de Ricardo Codorníu",  dedicated to this leading figure in the conservation of natural areas, who had close ties to Alhama.

The series will conclude on Thursday, November 26, with José Miguel Viñas Rubio, a meteorologist and consultant for the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), who will deliver the lecture "Más allá del termómetro: la verdadera crisis climática".

All five events will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Casa de Cultura.
